Week 11: Comics As Contemporary Literature: Alice in Sunderland

I think this comic was okay. It was good how the author took us through the history and all of the writers and where the stories came from all over Europe and Sunderland. I kinda thought it was a bit confusing as to if that was the actual story, 'a man with one audience member, telling the history of Sunderland.' I keep getting a little lost, but I'm reading until the end. I like the pictures. They are very graphic and have a strong sense of contrast. I do think it is a bit distracting while trying to read the speech bubbles on the pages that have a good bit of collaged [ictures behind them. I think they could've toned down the contrast or dulled the color a bit. Or I'm just one of those people who gets distracted by looking at the pictures and ignoring the text because there is so much to see the pictures and some are more vivid than others. It's a real attention getter.
